35th Arbor Day Tree Planting
Friday, April 24, 2026
The Arbor Day tree planting continues for its 35th year!
If we all say Yes to Arbor Day, imagine what we can grow! The Arbor Day Foundation says it takes a lot of Yeses to plant 500 million trees. That’s why when you commit to celebrating Arbor Day, you’re doing more than helping put trees in the ground — you’re saying Yes to a healthier world. As always, local 5th graders will be assisting with this planting, helping carry on a tradition of stewardship and environmental education in our community.
According to American Forests, trees act as natural air conditioners, air filters, and carbon sponges. They help reduce urban heat, improve air quality, provide wildlife habitat, and create welcoming spaces for residents and visitors alike. With this new tree planting at Evergreen Knoll Park, park users will enjoy increased shade, enhanced natural beauty, and long-term environmental benefits for years to come.
Farmington is proud to have been recognized as a Tree City USA community for 35 years, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to sustainable forestry.
