What’s New?
Due to skyrocketing demand for tire recycling and limited staff availability, MMCD will not be picking up tires at residences in 2025. But don’t worry—they’ve got a better solution!
Introducing FREE Tire Drop-Off Events!
They are piloting a new program in Dakota, Carver, and Scott Counties where residents can drop off up to 20 standard car tires (off the rims) at no cost—yes, free! Just bring proof of residence and you’re in.
Mark Your Calendar! Dakota County's first event will be on Wednesday, June 11. More dates may be added later this summer based on participation!

Why This Matters
Old tires make perfect homes for container-breeding mosquitoes—some of which can spread diseases like West Nile virus and La Crosse encephalitis. By getting rid of waste tires, you’re helping reduce mosquito breeding sites and keeping our communities healthier.
