Locally, you can join Dakota County, Dakota County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD), and Vermillion River Watershed Joint Powers Organization (VRWJPO) in sampling for chloride in our waterbodies. Sign up to sample for chloride with a Salt Watch Kit and pick up your kit at the Dakota County Library nearest to you. Then (safely!) find a spot to sample water and report your results on the Clean Water Hub. The data will help us better understand where to focus efforts.
