Farmington Citizens Academy – Now Accepting Applications!

Ever wondered what really happens behind the scenes in policing? The Farmington Citizens Academy offers residents a hands-on look at local law enforcement through interactive presentations, demonstrations, and tours.

Who Can Apply

  • Must live, attend school, or work in Farmington
  • Age 16+ (parent/guardian approval required for minors)
  • Must pass a background check (criminal history does not automatically disqualify applicants)

Class Schedule

Wednesdays, March 25 - May 6
6-9 pm

Topics Include

  • Department overview & facility tour
  • Patrol operations
  • Use of force
  • Police psychology & critical incidents
  • SWAT operations
  • Jail tour
  • Investigations & crime scene processing
  • K9 unit demonstrations

All participants are eligible for a police ride-along as part of the program. Applications are accepted through Monday, March 16.
