   Please use this form when requesting law enforcement data only. All law enforcement data requests are processed in accordance with MN Data Practices laws under MN State Statutes: Statute 13.04 Subd. 3 and Statute 13.82 and Statute 13.825. Some police reports older than seven (7) years may have been disposed of and are no longer available per retention guidelines. See Retention Schedule (PDF) for an inventory of police records and retention periods.

   A parent or guardian of a minor must provide a valid photo ID and either a certified copy of the minor's birth certificate or a certified copy of documents that establish the parent or guardian's relationship to the child, such as a court order relating to divorce, separation, custody or foster care; a foster care contract; or an affidavit of parentage, before they may receive the minor's private data.
